This month our UPK students have been learning all about signs.  They’ve learned that there are different types of signs all around us, and they come in a variety of shapes and colors.  There are signs in and outside of schools, stores and on the streets.   They have also noticed that you can find numbers on signs too.  The children can describe and draw a variety of signs.  They can also identify which signs communicate where you can enter or not enter, no parking, and even the speed limit.  The Cheetahs visited the local supermarket to extend their experience within the study of signs.   The children were very excited and had fun looking around and identifying the different signs throughout the store.  Before our visit, the students participated in a discussion on the purpose of our visit.  We concluded that we would be looking at and observing all the different signs in the supermarket. While we walked through the supermarket aisles the cheetahs were able to point out the signs and the prices of the items.
