Ms. G has experience working with children on a one-to-one basis and also as a Group Teacher in a classroom setting. She has created lesson plans that incorporate various curriculum methods and ideas that can be tailored for many different age groups. Her main goal is to create an environment where children can feel safe and nurtured. A place where they can feel free to explore, learn and grow.
Educational Director – 137th Street
Having worked with students from PK-8th grade, Denise decided it was time to work with children starting from the beginning of their education. She runs the center as a school, focusing on academics through direct instruction, one-to-one activities, and structured play. Denise enjoys including families in school activities and hosts several family festivals throughout the year.
Educational Director – Sugar Hill
Tynesia’s goal is to provide a safe, nurturing and rich learning experience for every child in this program, where they will feel free to be themselves. Children are very impressionable at this stage and who they become begins from birth. She believes that having a strong, solid foundation is the key to success, so she wants to provide a space where children can develop from the inside (socially and emotionally) out, (physically and academically).
She looks forward to working with the families and staff of Tender Tots and to seeing the children as they develop into strong-minded, socially and emotionally stable individuals with a sense of who they are and confidence in what they know.
Site Director – Teller Avenue
My name is Kirsty Broadnax and I am so excited to be joining the Tendertots team on Teller Ave. And I equally look forward to collaborating with each of you on the children’s educational journey. I have worked in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 15 years. My specialty is in being a compassionate and supportive director to all students, families, and teachers. I am especially proud of my ability to help in easing the transition from home to school to help students, staff and families become more comfortable.
Before becoming Director, I worked as a Pre-K teacher in both New York and in Maryland. My classroom environment was well structured with defined learning areas and materials. The lesson plans were detailed, age-appropriate, and challenging for the children. I took pride in not only the look and design of the room but more importantly the atmosphere. It was important to me that each of my students felt comfortable in their environment, only then would they be able to strive to their highest potentials.
I hold an AA in Journalism and a BA in English/Education. I believe at this stage school should feel like a second home for students, teachers, and families; A place where we all work together to create the best possible foundation, for not just learning, but a love of learning. I look forward to working with you all!
Educational Director – Teller Avenue
I came into early childhood education almost accidentally and I’ve enjoyed every bit of the roller-coaster ride. Serving and educating children is my primary focus. I gain great joy when I am able to be of assistance in a child’s educational journey.
As the new education director, I look forward to meeting you all. I welcome the opportunity to collaborate with both families and staff in the weeks, months and years to come.
Educational Director – Decatur Avenue
My name is Rosa Estrella and it is my pleasure to join the Tender Tots team. I look forward to establishing relationships with parents and staff that will foster the Tender Tots mission of providing children with high-quality early childhood education. I have been working in the field of Education since 2001. My first teaching experience was with the New York City Department of Education. While with the NYCDOE, I was a 1st-grade bilingual teacher. A couple of years later, after my youngest son was born, I took time off from work to become a stay-at-home mom. Upon returning to the workforce I pursued other teaching positions which allowed me to gain more experience as a teacher and, ultimately, as a supervisor.
As for my educational background, I hold a dual Master’s Degree in Early Childhood General Education and Special Education. I also possess NYS certification in Early Childhood Education. My love for and commitment towards helping children has led me to where I am today and I look forward to serving the families at Tender Tots in any way that I can. I am open to setting up meetings/phone conferences if any concerns/issues may arise.
Director – Bushwick
It is her mission to improve children’s self-esteem and self-confidence by devising activities that spark their interests, allowing them to learn at their own pace, focusing on basic skills and most importantly, making learning fun.
She invites you to come and visit our location at 810 Flushing Ave in Brooklyn for a personal tour and to discuss how we can meet your child’s personal needs.
