October has been such an awesome month for us here in the Lion Room! We are all learning and growing so much already and it is so exciting! One extremely fun study we have done this month is our “All About Me” study. In this unit, we have learned so much about ourselves and each other. One fun activity we completed was making adorable self-portraits of ourselves. We first had the children look at themselves and describe what they saw using mirrors. Then, from what they saw in the mirror, they drew the most adorable pictures of themselves! The drawings came out amazing and everyone did such a great job! Another awesome activity we completed during our “All About Me” study was our best part of me activity. We first read the book, “I Like My Hair” by Natasha Anastasia Tarpley. In the book, a little girl describes why her hair was the best part of herself. We then went around the class and asked the children what they thought the best part of themselves were. They gave such great responses. We then took photos of their favorite body parts and the children wrote out their responses. The finished products of this activity look awesome! We are continuing to grow here in the Lion Room and cannot wait for what November has in store for us!
